Quick answers from the Mediband team

I am healthy — why should I wear a medical ID?

Accidents and medical emergencies happen to healthy people without warning. A medical ID gives emergency personnel your critical information immediately, helps prevent an incorrect diagnosis, raises awareness of conditions like allergies and diabetes, and provides essential contact details in an emergency.

Will emergency personnel find my medical ID?

Emergency personnel are trained to search personal belongings for identification and medical information. Mediband medical wristbands are designed to be highly visible and carry the star of life medical emblem, recognised universally by caregivers and medical staff.

Couldn’t emergency room staff get my records from my doctor or hospital?

They probably can, but it could take hours. If the request is made after office hours your records might not be retrieved until the next day. In an emergency seconds count, and immediate access to vital information can make a life-saving difference.

What size is right for me?

Mediband medical IDs come in Extra Large (220 mm), Large (202 mm), Medium (180 mm) and Small (150 mm). Choose on wrist size — Medium typically suits children under 12 and Small children under 6.

See the full sizing guide for how to measure a wrist.

What is the minimum order?

There is no minimum order for non-custom Mediband products. Custom silicone medical ID bracelets have a minimum order of 7 because of setup costs — which also gives you spares to keep in a bag, a car or at school.

How long do customised bands take?

Production for custom stainless steel bracelets and silicone wristbands takes 10–15 business days, excluding shipping. See shipping and delivery for full timings.

Why are some Medibands only available in a particular colour?

Some conditions are associated with specific colours — blue for diabetes, red and orange for allergies. The colour coding helps medical personnel recognise the condition quickly. Customisable colours and styles are also available for a personalised look.
