Medical ID Bracelet Sizing Guide

Mediband® wristbands come in up to four sizes: Extra Large, Large, Medium and Small. A medical ID only works if it is worn, and a band that fits properly is a band that stays on — so it is worth measuring before you order.

How to measure your wrist

Two minutes with a tape measure removes all the guesswork. Measure before you order, especially for a child.

  1. Wrap a soft tape measure around the wrist, just below the wrist bone — where a watch would normally sit.
  2. Keep it snug but not tight. You should be able to slide one finger underneath.
  3. Read the measurement in millimetres and match it to the table above.

No tape measure? Wrap a strip of paper or a piece of string around the wrist, mark where it overlaps, then lay it flat against a ruler.

Between two sizes? Choose the larger one. A band that is slightly loose stays comfortable all day; one that is slightly tight gets taken off — and a band in a drawer protects nobody.

Choosing a size for a child

Medium fits most primary school children and is the size we recommend for children 12 years and under. Small is for children under 5.

Children grow. If the band is for a child with a condition that must be identified in an emergency, check the fit every few months and re-measure at the start of each school year.
