I have been taking warfarin now for 3 years. I do a lot of mountain walking with my 9 year old son. I last went away for 4 days, backpacking with him. I wear a "Alert Warfarin medicated" band, and this gives my wife peace of mind that if anything should happen to me up a mountain, I can be treated accordingly in case my son forgets to tell someone. Warfarin thins the blood, and a major bleed from a cut needs to be stopped quickly....I never go out without my Mediband on!!! Thank you!!!
