Testimonial by Chris (South Yarra, Victoria, Australia)I LOVE my Mediband bracelet as it works, is very comfortable and is good for my love life. (white text "Alert! Insulin Dependent" on blue background)
It works: Soon after I started wearing my Mediband bracelet in April, 2009, I had a very bad hypo towards the end of a meeting that was going longer than planned (1.5hrs). I was on the verge of falling into a coma. Thankfully, the guy I was meeting with had already noticed the Mediband bracelet and he was able to get help quickly as the meeting was in a hospital.
Comfortable: I never take it off now. I have tried wearing metal bracelets before but found them very uncomfortable and ineffective.
Good for my love life: As a single person, it is always difficult to know the most appropriate way to notify the other person without spoiling any developing romance. Earlier this year, before I had the Mediband bracelet, a girl I had been dating over a few weeks freaked out and didn't want to see me anymore when she found out I was diabetic. She obviously didn't like surprises! My social confidence was at an all-time low. However, on a recent first date, she brought it up casually over dinner as she had noticed the bracelet when we first met. It wasn't even an issue and things are progressing well, in part, thanks to my Mediband bracelet. 23/09/2009
