Sometimes it is just plain hard work to stay healthy. You can make it a little easier by knowing what to do, what your risks are and how to make the most of the cards you’re dealt. 1. Exercise helps

A diagnosis of cancer often inspires people to eat better and exercise more. The news appears to be that this really does work. 3 never-fail ways to stay healthy!

There’s just so much doom and gloom out there – don’t do this, can’t do that and sometimes we lose the good news for the easy headlines! But, generally, it can be quite simple to get healthy and stay healthy. If you do have a problem others should be aware of, then consider a Mediband, but apart from that, celebrate being healthy…

1. The ingredient-reading codes. Start making a habit of reading ingredient labels. Yes, you won’t understand the chemical names, but keep two things in mind. The less you understand the name, or the more numbers and scientific it appears to be, the more processed and unhealthy it is likely to be. You don’t need to know what it is to work out whether it’s good for you or not! Secondly, the higher up the list the more of it is in the product. If science dominates the top of the list, re-think that product. They’re not going to make labels any easier to read anytime soon, so keep those general rules in mind and you’ll be right.

Hospital Alzheimer’s wristband needed

Throughout the decade in which I cared for my father, who had Alzheimer’s disease, he was hospitalized several times. Each and every stay was a complete nightmare. I could easily name several reasons for these trials but the one I would like to focus on here is this: it’s impossible to simply look at someone and tell they have cognitive disabilities. Due to this fact, my father was regularly mistaken for “just another patient.” (more…)
